SAN TAN VALLEY PEST CONTROL FOR SCORPIONS, TERMITES & ROOF RATS

Local, family-owned pest and weed control services, with no contracts.
San Tan Valley has grown from open farmland into Arizona's newest town. Residents voted to incorporate in August 2025, and the town became official that September, with close to 100,000 people living between the San Tan Mountains and Hunt Highway. The pests got here first. Every new street carved out of the desert pushes scorpions, rodents and termites toward the closest shelter, and that shelter is often your block wall, garage, attic or stem wall.

Three Suns Pest Control is a family-owned pest and weed control company based next door in Queen Creek (AZ license #10019). We treat San Tan Valley homes every week. Our routes run down Ellsworth, Gantzel and Hunt Highway, so we're close, we come back fast, and we already know which pests show up in your neighborhood. Call for a free estimate.

SAN TAN VALLEY NEIGHBORHOODS WE TREAT

Every San Tan Valley community has its own mix of pests. Here's what we see in a few of the neighborhoods we service most:

Johnson Ranch. Johnson Ranch has 31 parks, more than 300 acres of greenbelt, a catch-and-release pond and the San Tan Highlands golf course, so it holds a lot of green grass and water for a desert town. That moisture draws crickets, ants and subterranean termites, especially to homes backing onto the fairways and greenbelts.

Solera at Johnson Ranch. In this Del Webb 55+ community, many residents travel during the hottest months. A home that sits closed up all summer is an easy target for scorpions and roof rats, and regular service keeps it protected while you're away.

Pecan Creek North and South. Pecan Creek runs along Gantzel Road south of Ocotillo and has about 1,300 homes, with four main parks, walking paths and greenbelts. Those grassy common areas are prime spots for harvester and fire ant mounds that spread into nearby yards.

San Tan Heights (85144). San Tan Heights sits in the foothills of the San Tan Mountains and has more than 6 miles of community trails, right next to the regional park. It's one of the most active areas in town for bark scorpions and desert centipedes, so block wall injection is a must here.

Circle Cross Ranch. With a big community park, ball fields, a covered pavilion and its own K-8 school, Circle Cross Ranch is full of kids and pets. We focus on the ant mounds and black widows that turn up around play areas and backyard play sets, using family-friendly methods.

Skyline Ranch. Newer phases keep going up in and around Skyline Ranch. Each round of grading pushes displaced scorpions and crickets into the homes on the edge of the construction.

We also treat Copper Basin, Rancho Bella Vista, Morning Sun Farms, Castlegate, and horse and acreage properties along Bella Vista Road and Gantzel Road.

WHY SAN TAN VALLEY HAS ITS OWN PEST PROBLEMS

The pests in San Tan Valley aren't the same as in central Gilbert or Tempe, for a few reasons:

1. You live on the desert's edge. San Tan Mountain Regional Park covers more than 10,000 acres of Sonoran Desert along the town's western boundary, and there's open State Trust land to the south and east. Neighborhoods like San Tan Heights and Morning Sun Farms back up to that habitat, so bark scorpions and desert centipedes can walk right over from the rocks.

2. Construction keeps moving pests around. When a new phase breaks ground, graders scrape up the burrows and brush piles scorpions and rodents have been living in, and those animals go looking for a new home. Homes next to active construction often see a spike in scorpions and crickets within a few weeks.

3. Old farmland means moisture and food. Before 2000, much of San Tan Valley was irrigated farmland. Leftover irrigation laterals, golf course turf and grassy retention basins keep the soil damp, which draws subterranean termites, crickets, and the roaches and spiders that feed on them.

4. Mature trees and bigger lots feed rodents. Citrus trees, palms and oleander hedges in the older sections give roof rats food and a highway to your roofline. On ranch properties, hay, feed and chicken coops draw mice and rats, plus the black widows that hunt them.

WHAT HAPPENS AT A SAN TAN VALLEY PEST CONTROL VISIT

For general pest control, we recommend every-other-month service for most San Tan Valley homes. That's often enough to keep the barrier strong through scorpion and monsoon season, and free callbacks cover anything that shows up between visits. A typical visit includes:
  • Block wall injection. We treat inside the hollow cinderblock columns where scorpions spend the day. Most San Tan Valley subdivisions have miles of these walls, so we treat this step as essential.
  • Foundation and perimeter treatment to stop pests at the stem wall before they get inside.
  • Garage and interior baseboards, where scorpions and crickets usually enter.
  • Eave sweeping to remove spider webs and egg sacs.
  • Granular yard treatment in grass that activates when your drip or sprinklers run.
  • Treat the base of all bushes and trees, preventing nests from getting close to your home.
  • Termite inspection of your stem walls every time we come out.
  • Wasp nest removal at no extra charge.

BEST SAN TAN VALLEY PEST CONTROL COMPANY

The best pest control company for San Tan Valley isn't the one with the biggest ad budget. It's the one that knows why a house in Johnson Ranch gets different bugs than a new build in Skyline Ranch. Our technicians treat homes here every week, so they already know which washes, farm edges and construction zones are pushing scorpions and crickets into yards right now. Every service is done by a licensed technician who follows the same checklist, from block wall injection to a termite check. If something gets missed, you call us and we come back for free. That's how we earn the reviews our San Tan Valley customers leave for us on Google.

AFFORDABLE SAN TAN VALLEY PEST CONTROL

Affordable San Tan Valley pest control starts with no contract and no startup fee. Your first visit costs the same as every visit after it, so there's no inflated "initial service" charge. Because we recommend every-other-month service instead of monthly, you pay for six visits a year, not twelve, and the barrier still holds. Callbacks between visits are free. If you want pest and weed control, bundling them saves you from hiring two companies. Estimates are always free.

LOCAL SAN TAN VALLEY PEST CONTROL

We're a local San Tan Valley pest control company in every way that matters. Our office is right next door in Queen Creek, and our routes run along Ellsworth Road, Gantzel Road and Hunt Highway. When you call, you talk to our office, not a national call center. Owner Dallin Brown still works with customers directly, and the same small team services your neighborhood month after month.

PET & FAMILY FRIENDLY SAN TAN VALLEY PEST CONTROL

San Tan Valley is full of young families and backyard dogs, so we treat like it's our own yard. Most of our work happens outside: block walls, the foundation, the garage and the yard. Inside, we treat along baseboards only. Your technician will tell you how long to keep kids and pets off treated areas (usually until it dries). Rodent bait goes in locked, tamper-resistant stations. Keeping scorpions out matters most here, because bark scorpion stings are hardest on small children and pets.

SAN TAN VALLEY PEST PREVENTION TIPS (BEYOND SCORPIONS)

Our scorpion guide for Queen Creek and San Tan Valley covers scorpion-proofing. For the other pests San Tan Valley homeowners ask us about:
  • Cut off roof rats' highway. Trim citrus, palms and oleanders back at least 3 feet from the roof, pick up fallen fruit every day, and make sure attic and roof vents are screened.
  • Dry out silverfish hideouts. Run bathroom fans, fix slow leaks under sinks, and store garage paper and clothing in sealed plastic bins instead of cardboard.
  • Keep soil off your stem wall. Termites use soil and mulch piled against the foundation as a bridge into your home. Keep at least a few inches of concrete foundation showing above grade so we can regularly monitor for termite activity.
  • Fix drip-line leaks. A leaking emitter next to the house keeps the soil wet, and wet soil draws termites and crickets.
  • Store feed in sealed bins. On horse and chicken properties, metal cans with tight lids cut down on mice and rats more than anything else. Mice and rats love easy meals from pet dishes and bird feeders.
  • Put down pre-emergent before monsoon. If you apply it before the summer storms, far fewer goatheads and spurge sprout afterward.

SAN TAN VALLEY PEST CONTROL FAQS

What are the most common pests in San Tan Valley?
Arizona bark scorpions come first, then desert subterranean termites, roof rats, harvester and fire ants, black widows, crickets and silverfish. Homes backing up to San Tan Mountain Regional Park or open desert see the most scorpion activity, while roof rats show up most where there are mature citrus and palm trees.

How often should I get pest control in San Tan Valley?
For general pest control, we recommend every-other-month service. It keeps a strong barrier in place year-round without over-treating your home, and if pests show up between visits, we come back for free.

My San Tan Valley home is fairly new. Do I still need termite protection?
Very possibly. Builders apply a pre-construction termite treatment, but it breaks down over time and the builder warranty eventually runs out. Desert subterranean termites are active all over Pinal County, so we check for mud tubes at every visit and can tell you when a treatment makes sense.

How do I know if I have roof rats in my San Tan Valley home?
The most common signs are hollowed-out oranges or grapefruit still hanging on the tree, scratching or running sounds in the attic after dark, and small dark droppings in the garage or attic. We place and maintain tamper-resistant bait stations to control them.

How much does pest control cost in San Tan Valley, and do I need a contract?
The price depends on your home's size, lot size and which pests you're dealing with, and estimates are always free. There's never a contract, and your first visit costs the same as every visit after it. Call 480-435-0339 for a quote.
